About
The ODWC is an umbrella organization for Democratic Women’s groups throughout Ohio.
Our Mission
We will harness the energy of women and build it into a network to support the Ohio Democratic Party (ODP) and campaign committees.
Our Goals
- Participate in the selection and development of strong Democratic Party strategists, leaders, and candidates at all levels of government, with particular emphasis on women.
- Help formulate a winning Democratic agenda for Ohio
- Advocate and promote Democratic positions, issues, and values by forming coalitions with other local, state, and national organizations
Our Strategy
- Cover 100% of Ohio. We want an Ohio Democratic Women’s Caucus in ALL 88 counties, so our first priority is to identify existing women’s groups and establish groups in counties where none exist.
- Organize for Strength. We will organize the ODWC into six regions, aligned to ODP divisions. We’ll establish a regional coordinator for each region to help the county caucuses succeed.
- Raise Funds. We plan to have one fundraiser in each region to help support the ODWC and campaigns in this election cycle.
- Provide Resources. Through this web site, the ODWC will provide links to every county caucus, a calendar of events, and candidate and issue information. Potential caucus leaders will be able to use our site to learn how to start a county caucus, and how to conduct fundraising activities.
Our caucus will make a major impact on this year’s statewide election and begin preparing us for victory in the 2008 elections!
